About the Role
Do you enjoy exploring buildings, solving mysteries, and pointing at suspicious ceiling tiles while saying, “Yep… that’s probably asbestos”? Then we may have the perfect job for you.
We’re looking for an Asbestos Surveyor to join our team of highly trained professionals who spend their days investigating places most people wouldn’t willingly enter. From old schools and offices to mysterious basements that haven’t seen daylight since 1984, you’ll be the person helping keep people safe while looking mildly concerned at textured coatings.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out asbestos surveys without dramatically shouting “EVERYBODY OUT!”
- Identifying asbestos-containing materials in buildings old enough to remember dial-up internet
- Taking samples safely and professionally
- Collecting data people can actually understand
- Explaining to clients why they probably shouldn’t drill into that ceiling
- Travelling to sites and occasionally questioning your life choices in motorway traffic
What We’re Looking For
- BOHS P402 qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience in asbestos surveying
- A sharp eye for detail and a healthy distrust of Textured Coating
- Ability to work independently and remain calm in dusty situations
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication skills — especially when telling someone their “quick refurb job” just became more complicated
Bonus Points If You Have
- P403/P404 qualifications
- Experience with tablets/software
- The ability to identify possible asbestos from 20 paces while holding a coffee
